New Era Engine: A New Contender in the World of Fan Games

Amidst the rich variety of fan games and engines, another new and surprisingly good contender is emerging - the New Era Engine. Created with the help of Unity software by Gil Costa, a fan of Streets of Rage, the engine breathes new life into the old series, updating it and adding new online features for cooperative play of up to four players simultaneously. Unlike the well-known Streets of Rage Remake, Gil focused on reverse engineering to manually bring the game into the new era.What does this mean?Firstly, you need to get the original game from SEGA Streets of Rage 2. Then, use the new engine to run it like a virtual console.

What will this change in the gameplay?

• Local and online multiplayer - up to four players. This allows you to reunite with friends online, no matter where they are in the world, and rush through the adventures in Wood Oak City together.

The developer of New Era has also planned a few surprises that you unlock by completing achievements.Other important features of this gaming console include:

• Rich settings menuwith two game modes:
  • Classic mode: Play the original game.
  • 30th Anniversary mode: An improved version with wide screen support and smoother controls.

Why is New Era categorized as an engine?The author promises that in version 3.0, customization options will be available. This means you will be able to create your own Streets of Rage Remake game with customized characters, levels, and HD quality. We will closely monitor the development of this new software system and hope it will give rise to a new class of Beat 'em Up games.
